What is an Empath?
Empaths have an ability to feel the emotions of others as if those feelings were their own. In other words, they are highly susceptible to emotional energies around them. They can also perceive certain physical characteristics as well as mental and emotional conditions of people near them. Empaths are often fascinated by human psychology and sociology.
Common characteristics of an empath include:
- Sensitive to other people’s moods, feelings, energy; often take on these feelings as if they were their own
- Highly empathetic and compassionate towards others (and animals) in the world around them
- Tend to be good listeners who are non-judgemental and understanding
